Bruce MacDonald received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Husson University in 1972. From 1972 to 1986 Bruce worked in several sales and management positions. In 1986 Bruce became Vice President of Eastbrook Corp. in Lewiston and joined his dad Robert MacDonald, in manufacturing high end hand sewn footwear for the Japanese market through Nippon Shoe Company.
Bruce and his dad started MacDonald Shoe Corp. in 1992 in Skowhegan, Me. They manufactured high end hand sewn footwear for companies such as L.L. Bean, Land’s End, Eddie Bauer, and H.S.Trask.
In 2002 MacDonald Shoe Corp. closed.
Between 2002 and 2006 Bruce worked for Custom Shoes of Maine, American Shoe , and US MedSys, managing factories that made diabetic shoes, custom molded shoes, and leather covered Ankle Foot Orthoses in Maine.
In the fall of 2006, Bruce with his son Todd, father Robert, and another partner started Pine Tree Orthopedic Lab manufacturing custom foot orthotics and custom AFO’s in a small facility in Leeds ,Me.. The company out grew their small manufacturing space and moved in the fall of 2007 to its present address at 175 Park St in Livermore Falls, Me. The company grew rapidly and Bruce and Todd became Certified Pedorthist in 2008.Pine Tree Orthopedic Lab currently have four Certified Pedorthist on staff, a retail shoe store, and a mobile shoe trailer that supplies many companies with safety shoes throughout Maine. They currently manufacture with high end CNC milling machines custom orthotics, custom AFO’s, custom shoe modifications, and custom shoes. All custom products are sold throughout the United States to Podiatrist, Physical Therapist, VA hospitals, and Orthotic and Prosthetic facilities.
Pine Tree Orthopedic Lab currently employs sixteen people.
Pine Tree Orthopedic Lab and Comfort shoe store offers a large line of comfort shoes, over-the-counter orthotics and a variety of shoe and foot care products in our well-stocked retail store. We also have a full-service Orthopedic Lab that can fill your prescription for custom-molded orthotics and ankle foot orthoses (AFOs).
