Read the Upcoming Bills

LD 1101 –

The Retail Workers Bill of Rights.

LD 1217

Similar to LD 1101 (The Retail Workers Bill of Rights), but would apply to ANY BUSINESS with 100 or more employees.  And when the sponsor presented it she put in an amendment to change it to 50 employees and 4 weeks!!

Contact LD 1217’s Sponsor Rep. Melaragno and tell her that this bill is terrible for Maine.

Contact LD 1101’s Sponsor Rep. Cooper and tell her that her bill is also terrible for Maine

Also, Co-Sponsors that need to hear from you are include Rep. Goode (bangor), Sen. Gerzofsky (Cumberland County), Rep. Chipman (Portland), Rep. Daughtry (Brunswick)), Rep. Dunphy (Old Town), Rep. Golden (Lewiston), Rep. Mastraccio (Sanford), Rep. Moonen (Portland), Rep. Pierce (Falmouth) and Rep. Warren (Hallowell).

LD 1287

This one was a bit more hidden and it is not as expansive as the previous two, but it would apply to business that receive a tax credit or tax incentive from the state (not sure how that is applied).

There are almost a dozen Minimum Wage bills in Augusta.  There is also some discussion about a compromise bill and a possible state-wide referendum.
