Riding To The Top Therapeutic Riding Center (RTT) is a non-profit dedicated to helping people with disabilities reach their highest potential through the healing power of horses.
Founded in 1993, RTT is a PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Premier Accredited Center having held this distinction since 2000.
RTT’s 50 acre farm includes a heated indoor arena with attached program and office space, an outdoor riding ring and access to miles of trails. RTT is the largest therapeutic riding program in northern New England and Maine’s oldest and only year- round PATH Intl. Accredited center solely dedicated to serving people with disabilities.
The benefits from Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies include improvements in:
- Balance, strength, coordination, and motor control
- Sensory processing, attention and problem solving, sequencing and planning
- Self-control, motivation, self-confidence, self-esteem
- Development of important life skills such as trust, responsibility and commitment
At RTT, children and adults with disabilities work together with horses, volunteers and staff to overcome challenges and reach their highest potential. Through engaging in RTT’s program, all of our lives are enhanced and broadened in an environment that is supportive, innovative, respectful and diverse.
