Mike Papp was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia. He has also lived in Michigan, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maine. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Temple University, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Mike joined Ford Motor Company in 1990, where he worked for 16 years, leading a variety of initiatives to improve product performance, quality, process improvement and equipment reliability.
Mike joined Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT, in 2006 as Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement. His experience also includes positions as Operations Manager, Quality Manager and Product Team Manager. He moved to Maine in 2008, as Product Director of the North Berwick, Maine Operations, and is currently the General Manager of the facility.
In his current role as General Manager, Mike is responsible for leading the North Berwick plant to new levels of lean manufacturing excellence. North Berwick manufactures jet engine parts with approximately 1,275 employees and one million square feet of floor space. The plant is actively involved in focusing on implementing lean manufacturing practices; driving new product development through integrated product, process and tool design; leading the effort to standardize equipment, tooling, products and processes; and, improving environmental, health and safety performance.
