If could hop into a time machine…I would tell my 30 something year old self, in the drive-thru line with a bucket of coffee, a few doughnuts and a breakfast sandwich, that everything is going to be ok. I would give her a hug. I would ask her how she wants to feel and. I would tell her that she doesn’t have to live the rest of her life in pain and shame. I would tell her that food is medicine and overdosing on the wrong meds is as destructive as numbing the existence of my life with sugar and things I know aren’t good for me.

I would sit and wait with her, while she unfurled in to a space of forgiveness, to find hope and self-love, for the first time in her life. I would remind her that she’s perfectly perfect and when she’s ready, it’s her time to shine.

I would tell my 5 year old self at the top of the stairs with a bag of cookies that everything is going to be ok. I would show her how to get out of “worrier pose” and step into “warrior pose.” I would encourage her to trust. I would take her by the hand and tuck her into bed. I would listen to her fears, but also show her all is well and that she’s perfectly perfect and she was born to shine.

Because, the truth is, I will be forever grateful for my former versions of me. Through her courage to face the pain, her resolve and dedication to living out her dreams, the current experience of my life came to be.

I believe our former selves are our greatest allies and when we can learn to love those wayward girls, we learn to love life more fully than we ever believed possible.

    • How to dig deep and look at the root of the issues head on; rather than continually beating yourself up.
    • How to keep raising the bar for yourself, your life, your family, and your purpose on the planet.
    • How to use food and love to look and feel amazing.
    • How to connect into your higher self. The self you were put here to be.

Because I learned there is no quick fix that will help me feel happy, healthy and full.

Much like training for a race or a “big game”…every day we learn to take steps. Every day we practice nourishing ourselves in a way that keeps us feeling great, off medications and in gratitude for my our amazing lives.
