Sam Vachon is singer-songwriter and visual artist from Scarborough, Maine. At a young age, he discovered his talents in the arts. He began songwriting at the age of 15 and is self-taught on acoustic guitar. In 2013 Sam studied abroad at the University of Hyderabad in India, and also traveled to other countries in Asia and Europe. After Sam’s travels, in the summer of 2014 Sam worked with producer Jayson Whitmore and recorded his first single “Stars Aligned “in Penumbra Recording studios in South Portland Maine. Sam’s songwriting inspiration comes from life experiences. Through his songs, Vachon’s personality is expressed through his poetic lyrics and edgy vocals. Sam Vachon is currently working on a soundtrack for a short-film and collaborating with Jenine Irabagon and their duo project Rooted Willow.
Jenine Irabagon is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music and an emerging folk artist currently based in New England. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Irabagon began her musical career as a jazz and classical instrumentalist before discovering her passion for songwriting. Summer of 2014 Irabagon debuted herself as a singer-songwriter. She first performed her original songs in local music venues in Deep Ellum, TX. Irabagon then continued to perform as a solo artist in Boston, MA, where she opened for a Sub Pop artist named Mirel Wagner, and became a featured artist for Berklee’s Singer-Songwriter Showcase at the Red Room venue. Irabagon draws inspiration from her musical upbringing, she listened to classic rock bands growing up, but she is heavily influenced folk singer-songwriters such as Conor Oberst, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s. With Irabagon’s taste in a variety of genre’s, she creates her own musical style that combines earthy, lyrical content with sweet singable melodies. Irabagon developed a captivating collection of folk songs, discussing topics that leave a big impression on the first-time listener.
Rooted Willow is an up and coming dynamic-duo currently based in Boston, MA. The members are Jenine Irabagon from Ft. Worth, TX and Sam Vachon from Portland, Maine. The two songwriters met in March 2016 when they recorded their first single “Two” at Berklee College of Music. The music of Rooted Willow is influenced by Jenine and Sam’s similar taste in indie folk music. Together they fuse their musical ideas to create songs that have meaningful lyrics and a personal sound.
